He Answered Yes Thanks To The Loan
It was a leap year and I decided that I didn’t want to wait for my boyfriend of 5 years to propose any longer I wanted to get married and needed to know that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me so I decided to bite the bullet and ask him on the 29th February.
My only problem was I needed a bit of money for the ring so I decided that a loan would be the way forward. I spoke to a loan company I had used many times and they accepted my request for a loan, which meant I could now choose a ring.
That night I cooked a lovely meal, sprinkled the table in hearts and lit red candles. The lighting and table looked so romantic. After a couple of drinks for Dutch courage, I got down on one knee and asked him the question, the look of shock and surprise on his face made me wonder if I had done the right thing, but he then answered “yes of course I will” laughing and told me to wait there. He went out of the room and came back with a box he was planning to whisk me away in a couple of days for my birthday and ask me to marry him. We both had a lovely ring to wear and a great weekend away to celebrate. Maybe I should have been a bit more patient. Well at least we both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
